ALAT Don Enter, Wema Win!

I opened a Bank Account and got credited in under 10 Mins

Last week, I was lamenting about the archaic process and delays required to open a bank account in Nigeria

Then 2 days ago, I heard on the Radar Vine the Wema Bank was creating a Digital Bank called ALAT

I thought to myself:

“Wema Bank create a digital bank? Ibadan #5KBae people’s bank create a digital bank?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂. See the ded name self 🙄🙄😂😂”

I checked out their website.

“Not bad” I said to myself

But still thought

“Anyone can get Namzo (Ernest) or Mubarak (Imogie) to do fine website”

I put in my email and thought nothing of it.

Earlier today, I got a “we’ve launched” email from them. Didn't have time to check it out. Decided to download it while I was on a call (because Oo cannot do one thing at a time).

I downloaded the app, created an account, got an account number and credited my new account in 10 MINUTES. While making a call.

All this happened after 5pm. Banks had closed by then. 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲

There are a few KYC things I am yet to do like upload some ID, a picture etc. But those are minor details.
