For where 2 or more are gathered in a WhatsApp group, fake news is bound to appear

I belong to two active long term WhatsApp groups (it’s down to 2 ‘cos I leave in the first 30 seconds of being added. But I digress)

Every other day, by omission or commission, someone shares some news item that is obviously fake.

“Trump tell Obama “Go back to Africa”; Buhari Daughter Says “we will kill Christians”

The news most likely comes from a “source” like www.CNNAfircaFOXonline.com then it comes with the ridiculous alibi “sent as received” or “copied”

Before, I used to laugh like the others and politely point out it is not true.

Not anymore.

Now, when fake news is sent, I rudely cut it off and make the person feel foolish or gullible (depending on the relationship). That’s what I started 2 days ago.

Before the talking to and explanation was reserved for my mum but now all family, friends and foes are not allowed to propagate nonsense near me.

I propose you do so too.

PS: On Facebook I warn once then unfollow. I was not born to babysit the internet.
